‘They Can’t Sack All of Us’: Thousands of Brits Plan Work Walkout to Go to Beer Garden

As oppressive temperatures grip many cities around the world, it can be hard to find the motivation to go to work. Especially when a short commute leaves you drenched and exhausted.

In the midst of a record-breaking heatwave, a British clothing brand has created a Facebook event encouraging workers to skip work and, instead, head to the beer garden in London.

The event, hosted by The Sesh (British slang for drinking session), is aptly named “Leave work and go [to] the beer garden, they can’t sack all of us.” More than 30,000 Facebook users have currently confirmed their attendance for the event, with a further 104,000 marking themselves as interested.  The beer garden “sesh” is scheduled for Aug. 19, at 12 p.m.

Whether the good weather will continue for long enough is anyone’s guess.
