Lucky Saint Joins Bbpa as First Alcohol-Free Brewer

Bavaria-based brewer Lucky Saint has become the first alcohol-free producer to join the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) in the organization’s 116-year history.

Lucky Saint is a 0.5% unfiltered lager that launched in October 2018.

According to the brand, its BBPA membership is part of a larger shift in both consumer and trade perspectives on the no-and-low beer category.

Recent figures suggest that this shift has continued to gain momentum over the past months, even with pubs and restaurants closed due to Covid-19; in April, Nielsen reported that the category’s sales increased by 14.8% over a four-week period.

‘Consumer interest in no and low options, whilst already on the rise, has grown even more during the lockdown,’ commented Luke Boase, founder of Lucky Saint.

‘As lockdown eases and people return to pubs, we hope that being part of the BBPA’s amazing network will help us reach new customers, break down barriers of misconceptions around alcohol-free beers, and expand across the UK.’
