Keystone Light Will Pay Your Rent for a Year

Keystone Light is basically the unofficial official beer of college and over-21-young-adulthood. It’s affordable, available everywhere, and easy to drink. Those making their way into the “real world,” however, often discover keeping up their drinking habit, not to mention living expenses, can be difficult.

To make that “transition into adulthood just a little bit smoother,” Keystone Light is launching a “Free Rent” campaign that will pay a year’s rent for 13 lucky winners, MillerCoors announced.  More specifically, the brand will fork up what they consider 12 months’ worth of rent, in the form of a $12,000 check. To get dibs on living free, all you need to do is apply online or snap the code on a point-of-sale display using Snapchat.

We know the odds seem not-so-much in your favor, but Keystone Light is also offering 150 second prize winners a “getting older transition pack.” What is in this pack, you may ask? This includes “a Keystone Light-branded inflatable chair, shower curtain, Hawaiian shirt, and ‘can’delier, a chandelier made of Keystone Light cans,” the brand says. Apparently, this is adulting.

The sweepstakes is part of Keystone Light’s effort to garner more drinkers between the ages of 21 and 24, in case you couldn’t tell.

“These consumers are craving financial stability, and we know from our research that housing expenses create a strain, eating up a large portion of their income,” Eric Wolfe, an associate brand manager for MillerCoors economy brands, said in the announcement. “With our free rent program, we’re hoping to ease part of the burden to enable them to enjoy the fun things in life, like having a cold beer and celebrating with friends.”
