Hampshire-based and California-specialist merchant James Hocking Wine is offering free-of-charge plants with any local wine order
Founder James Hocking is an amateur horticulturalist and had been preparing a selection of plants to be entered into a number of shows around the country over the summer. With all events now cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, Hocking’s plants needed repurposing.
Plants on offer include Sungold cherry tomatoes, San Marzano tomatoes, Marconi Sweet Peppers and Apache ‘bastard hot’ chili. In addition to the plant, customers will be given a small bottle of Hocking’s own ‘Tomato Feed’.
James Hocking Wine is currently offering free delivery for the areas surrounding Andover, Salisbury and Winchester, yet the merchant says that deliveries for further afield can be accommodated.
Free-delivery items include singles bottles such as Moone-Tsai 2017 Heintz Vineyard Chardonnay; CAMi 2016 Napa Valley Estate Wine; Blankiet Estate Paradise Hills Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon; and Scarecrow 2017 M.Etain Cabernet Sauvignon.
