Am sure you are already wondering is this for real, yes it is. though it may seem gimmick to add vodka t pasta, funny enough the spirit actually enhance the flavor of the tomatoes.
Ingredients
4 oz New Amsterdam
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp unsalted butter
salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 pasta
Parmesan cheese
3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups chopped tomatoes
Directions
In large a pot, bring a pot of salted water, heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add a pinch of salt sliced chopped onions and cook, stir for at least 5 minutes.
Add galic and cook for 1 more minute. Pour in the chopped tomatoes carefully to avoid spatter carefully add New Amsterdam Vodka and cook. Ensure you stir it until the tomatoes begin to break down and become saucy, cook for 10 minutes. pour in your butter and cream, stir and add salt for taste. Turn of the heat and set it aside
When the water is boilled add pasta and cook until its soft, pour some of the pasta cooking water into a cup (to get 1 cup of pasta water) return the sauce to low heat, pour in your pasta in to the sauce. Add a splash of the pasta cooking water that kept one side and stir until the pasta is mixed with sauce, add more of the pasta as neccessary to ensure it is well coated. Season to taste with pepper.
Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese and serve hot.
